The History behind the Name Bingo
Of all the gambling games, bingo is the most famous and loved game to be played by most players. One trivia for fanatics of bingo is that, are you aware that bingo is originated from the lottery form?
Eventually in the year of 1700s, the lotto game or lottery began catching everyone's attention. Before, lotto was played with the use of a card and this card was divided in horizontal lines and vertical lines. The horizontal line consists of 3 rows while the vertical lines have nine rows.
For every horizontal row there are 5 numbers and as well as four squares that is blank and arranged randomly. Each lotto card is different from the other. The first player who will form a vertical, horizontal or diagonal line will yell the term beano. Mr. Edwin Lowe saw this game and was inspired that he imitated the game on his hometown. One of Mr. Lowes friend yelled the term bingo instead of beano and that is the time when he started using the term bingo for his gaming.
A lot of people started imitating the game of bingo and instantly it was a big success. Mr. Lowe would like to call the game bingo instead of other terms so he decided to give people $1 each if they will be using the term bingo as well.
Bingo is so popular that almost anyone on different parts of the world knows how to play it. This is a well known game that it is being used even in parties and other types of functions.
From the lottery game to the beano term until it was eventually called bingo and this is where bingo all started.
